Haiku Contest


a drop of moonlight
all life comes into focus
nothing left to fear

Haiku is an ancient form of Japanese poetry.

As we discussed in class, traditional Haiku has 3 lines with 17 syllables. 5 syllables in the first line, 7 in the second and 5 in the third.

I encourage you to follow the other guidelines as well:

1. It should be in the present tense.

2. It should be about a moment in nature.

3. It should not rhyme.

Follow the same procedure as before and post your haiku under the comments section.

The best haiku will win a prize.
